Neos expands its transatlantic network with its new non-stop flights between New York JFK and Palermo. This is the only direct connection between southern Italy and the United States. Additionally, the Italian leisure airline’s offer to the Big Apple has a year-round route from Milan-Malpensa.
On June 8, flight NO787 boarded 246 passengers and was operated by a Boeing 787 with registration EI-NUA. The aircraft took off from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 17:22 local time and landed at Palermo-Punta Raisi Airport at 06:44, after seven hours and 54 minutes.
The airline confirmed the return of this seasonal service for next year’s summer season, Neos’ North American offering is complemented by the Milan Malpensa-New York JFK and Milan Malpensa-Toronto Pearson routes, both of which operate year-round.

This new route aims to boost tourism between Italy and the United States, also this service has a commercial aspect, as each flight can mobilize up to ten tons of goods, which will enhance the export of typical Sicilian products. It is estimated that this route will offer 710 seats per week and will carry 20,000 passengers in the summer of 2024.
