The first A320neo for Lufthansa City Airlines now sports the livery of the new airline under the Lufthansa Group. The aircraft, registered as D-AIJI, is 1.4 years old and was delivered to Lufthansa on March 16, 2023.
The A320neo was initially received by the Lufthansa Group in the traditional livery of the German airline. Recently, photos were published on the official Lufthansa City Airlines LinkedIn account showcasing the first plane with the new airline’s livery.
The new airline under the Lufthansa Group will inaugurate its operations on June 26. The first flight will be between Munich International Airport (MUC) and Birmingham Airport (BHX).
The new airline will operate feeder flights to the parent airline and direct flights from Munich International Airport to various European destinations.
All City Airlines flights will be integrated into the group network through the hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. The airline’s initial destinations will be Birmingham, Hanover, and Düsseldorf.
During the initial months of operation, the carrier’s fleet will consist of Airbus A320 family aircraft. Subsequently, new Airbus A220-300 aircraft will be added, which are part of a 40-plane order placed by the Lufthansa Group.
