Etihad Cargo expands its European network with an exclusive cargo service between Abu Dhabi and Madrid, adding more than 200 tons of cargo capacity to Europe. This new route brings its operations to Spain to 25 weekly flights.
Etihad Cargo also provides belly cargo capacity in Spain with 10 flights per week to Madrid, 10 flights per week to Barcelona and a three-times weekly seasonal service to Malaga.
This expansion underscores the strategic interest of these destinations, Madrid is known as a European fashion hub, and this service is aimed at boosting e-commerce from Asia to Europe through Etihad Cargo’s Abu Dhabi hub,
Etihad Cargo’s current European schedule has six weekly flights to Amsterdam and three weekly flights to Frankfurt. With the addition of Madrid, Etihad Cargo’s total number of cargo flights to Europe increases to 11 per week.
In addition, customers will be able to take advantage of additional hold capacity on passenger aircraft offered as part of the airline’s summer program, which includes a seasonal service to Nice with two weekly flights. Flights to Athens increased to 14 per week, two of which will be via the seasonal destination Mykonos and two via Santorini.
A new route to Antaya is scheduled with three flights per week and flights to Istanbul will increase from 10 to 14 per week from July 22, 2024. In addition, service to Dublin will see an increase of three more flights from July 23, 2024, for a total of ten per week.

- Madrid – Abu Dhabi Flight EY 9712 MAD 03:45 – AUH 10:35 Thursday.
- Abu Dhabi – Madrid Flight EY 9711 AUH 05:05 – MAD 12:45 Monday.
- Abu Dhabi – Madrid Flight EY 9711 AUH 17:10 – MAD 00:50+1 Wednesday.
Flights will be operated by Boeing 777F aircraft.
