Copa Airlines celebrates 10 years of operations in Montreal

Copa Airlines celebrates a decade of operations in Montreal: the Panamanian airline connects the city of Quebec with South and Central America through the Hub of the Americas at Tocumen International Airport (PMY), in Panama City.

The company began operating in Montreal on June 4, 2014, initially using Boeing 737-700 aircraft with a capacity of 124 passengers. Over time, Copa Airlines upgraded to its 737-800 aircraft with 166 available seats.

Regarding the frequency of service, Copa started with four weekly flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Today, the airline operates a daily flight to the Canadian city.

Additionally, Montreal is the airline’s one of the longest routes to the north, covering a distance of 4,087 kilometers with a flight duration of approximately five hours and twenty minutes. However, the longest route operated by the airline is to Montevideo, Uruguay.

Copa Airlines has a fleet of 99 aircraft:

  • 6 Boeing 737-700;
  • 58 Boeing 737-800;
  • 32 Boeing 737-9 MAX.

The airline will soon receive its 100th aircraft, which will also be its first Boeing 737-8 MAX.
