China sanctions Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and other US defense firms along with their senior executives

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China issued an order this Wednesday (22) to impose sanctions on a number of US defense companies, as well as specifically on their top executives, in response to what they defined as practices of «unilateral bullying» and «economic coercion» that «gravely violate the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, institutions, and individuals,» but also in response to the United States’ decision to continue selling arms to Taiwan.

The latter, they claim, «gravely violates the one-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US joint communiqués, gravely interfering in China’s internal affairs and gravely damaging China’s sovereignty and territory.»

The defense companies that will be sanctioned with the freezing of movable and immovable assets and other types of properties are:

  • Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control
  • Lockheed Martin Aeronautics
  • Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture

  • General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems
  • General Dynamics Information Technology
  • General Dynamics Mission Systems
  • Inter-Coastal Electronics
  • System Studies & Simulation
  • IronMountain Solutions
  • Applied Technologies Group

  • Matthew Bromberg, Vice President of Global Operations, Northrop Grumman
