American Airlines Launches Eight New Routes and Increases Frequencies to Latin America and the Caribbean

American Airlines announced the launch of eight new routes between the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean, and the enhancement of frequencies on other existing services to meet demand during the winter season 2024/2025.

In total, the company is preparing to offer 11% more flights and 10% more seats compared to the previous winter season, strengthening its position as the U.S. airline with the largest presence in the region.

During the winter peak, American Airlines will operate over 2,350 weekly flights to more than 95 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

New routes from American Airlines in Latin America and the Caribbean

  • Charlotte (CLT) – St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD): one weekly flight on Saturdays starting December 7 with Boeing 737 aircraft.
  • Miami (MIA) – La Romana (LRM), Dominican Republic: one daily flight starting December 5 with Airbus A319 aircraft.
  • New York (JFK) – Bridgetown (BGI), Barbados: one daily flight starting November 5 with Boeing 737 aircraft.
  • New York (JFK) – Saint Lucia (UVF): one weekly flight on Saturdays starting December 7 with Boeing 737 aircraft.
  • New York (JFK) – St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD): one weekly flight on Saturdays starting December 7 with Boeing 737 aircraft.
  • Philadelphia (PHL) – Bridgetown (BGI), Barbados: one weekly flight on Saturdays starting November 9 with Airbus A321 aircraft.
  • Philadelphia (PHL) – Liberia (LIR), Costa Rica: one weekly flight on Saturdays starting December 7 with Boeing 737 aircraft.

Frequency enhancements

American Airlines will enhance frequencies on the following routes.

  • Charlotte (CLT) – Antigua (ANU): will become a daily service on Boeing 737 starting December 5.
  • Chicago (ORD) – Los Cabos (SJD), Mexico: will increase to two daily flights between December 19 and January 6.
  • Chicago (ORD) – Nassau, Bahamas: will become a daily flight starting December 5.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) – Palmerola (XPL), Honduras: will increase to two weekly flights starting December 5.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) – Grand Cayman (GCM): will become a daily flight starting December 5.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) – Huatulco (HUX), Mexico: will become a daily flight starting December 5 with Embraer E175 aircraft.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) – Nassau (NAS): will become a daily flight starting December 5.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) – Oaxaca (OAX), Mexico: will increase to two daily flights starting November 5 with A319 and A320 aircraft.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) – Zihuatanejo (ZIH), Mexico: will become a daily flight starting December 5.
  • Los Angeles (LAX) – Los Cabos (SJD), Mexico: two daily flights between December 19 and January 6 with A321 aircraft.
  • Miami (MIA) – Bonaire (BON): will become a daily flight starting December 5.
  • Miami (MIA) – Cancun (CUN): will increase to six daily flights between December 19 and January 5.
  • Miami (MIA) – Tortola (EIS), British Virgin Islands: up to five daily flights starting September 7 with Embraer E175 aircraft.
  • Phoenix (PHX) – Cancun (CUN): two daily flights starting November 5.
  • Phoenix (PHX) – Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Mexico: three daily flights starting November 5.

“Customers will have more reasons to choose American than ever before for nonstop fun in the sun this year,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning.

“We are excited to continue growing our network to the region with more flights this winter to the Caribbean and Latin America than any other U.S. carrier ever.” he concluded.
