airBaltic and Bulgaria Air Sign Codeshare Agreement to Enhance Connectivity

airBaltic and Bulgaria Air have implemented a codeshare agreement that will enable increased connectivity between Latvia and Bulgaria.

As part of the agreement, airBaltic will incorporate its “BT” code on the Sofia-Varna route. On the other hand, Bulgaria Air will introduce its “FB” code on the Sofia-Riga route and on airBaltic-operated flights from Riga to Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, and Helsinki.

The codeshare agreement attracts an increasing number of passengers and allows customers of both airlines to benefit from seamless connectivity from their home bases. The first codeshare flight will take place on May 14, 2024.

We are pleased to sign a codeshare agreement with Bulgaria Air, shortly after the launch of our first direct route from the Bulgarian capital to our base in Riga. This partnership benefits local Baltic travelers with access to Bulgaria Air’s versatile network, and local Bulgarian travelers can now enjoy easier access to airBaltic destinations in Europe. We look forward to a fruitful and long-lasting partnership,” said Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic.

We are delighted to partner with a great company like airBaltic. With this codeshare collaboration, our passengers can now enjoy seamless connections between our networks, opening up new travel opportunities across Europe with direct flights from Riga to key Scandinavian destinations such as Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, and Helsinki. These routes further reinforce our commitment to offering exceptional service and connectivity to Bulgarian passengers as the national flag carrier,” said Hristo Todorov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulgaria Air.

airBaltic operates more than 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and seasonal services to Gran Canaria, providing flights to many destinations in its network throughout Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region. The complete airBaltic flight and ticket schedule can be found on the airline’s website.
