Air Europa increases flights to Salvador de Bahia

-

On Tuesday, May 28, Madrid Tourism, Air Europa and Salvador de Bahia Airport announced the increase of flights between Salvador and Madrid to three times a week.

Globalia’s airline has been connecting Salvador de Bahia with the Spanish capital for 20 years. Currently, it has a schedule of two weekly flights (Wednesdays and Saturdays). As of June 17, 2024, the airline is introducing an additional departure (Mondays), in addition to offering Business Class seats.

This news means more options for tourists wishing to visit Madrid and other European cities through our hub at Madrid-Barajas Airport. Our goal is to continue promoting the destination in Brazil and also to help more Brazilians get to know the Spanish capital and its attractions,” said Gonzalo Romero, general manager of Air Europa in Brazil and Argentina.

The event in Salvador was attended by Madrid’s Tourism Connectivity Manager, Caroline Tensi, and Marketing Manager, Consuelo Sanchez, as well as Bahia’s Secretary of Tourism, Mauricio Bacellar, and Spain’s Consul General in Salvador, Ignacio Perez.

For Salvador de Bahia Airport, the event highlights the importance of the Bahian capital in promoting the country’s tourism and as an important destination for European tourists and a starting point for Brazilians wishing to visit the Old Continent.

The new frequency of Air Europa on the route that directly links Salvador and Madrid, tourist exponents of their respective countries, is another important step to consolidate the capital of Bahia as a relevant international flight route,” said Julio Ribas, general director of Salvador da Bahia Airport.
