Scoot took delivery of its first Embraer E190-E2. These aircraft are under lease from Azorra and all nine aircraft are expected to join the fleet by 2025. The low-cost airline will operate this family in its short-haul markets in Malaysia and Thailand.
These new aircraft will strengthen Singapore’s regional connectivity by reaching more destinations where Singapore Airlines Group’s larger aircraft cannot operate. The first E190-E2 was christened «Explore 3.0» and will initially fly to Krabi and Hat Yai in Thailand.
Other routes where the Embraer E190-E2 will fly include:
- Koh Samui, Thailand (USM) starts May 13.
- Miri, Malaysia (MYY) starts May 20.
- Kuantan, Malaysia (KUA) starts June 5.
- Sibu, Malaysia (SBW) opens June 3.
«We are honored to be the first Singapore airline to take delivery of this modern, fuel-efficient aircraft, and the E190-E2 jets are crucial to our overall network growth strategy. The delivery of the first Embraer E190-E2 reflects our confidence in the demand for air travel and our commitment to connect our customers to more destinations at the same price. We thank Azorra and Embraer for supporting us in this next chapter as we become the first major E2 operator in Southeast Asia,» said Leslie Thng, CEO of Scoot.
