ITA Airways began flights to Chicago

-

ITA Airways is ramping up its offer in the United States with the start of its non-stop flights between Rome Fiumicino and Chicago O’Hare. The airline will compete on this route with American Airlines and United Airlines.

Flight AZ 628 was operated on an Airbus A330-900neo registered as EI-TYC. The aircraft departed Leonardo da Vinci Airport at 09:39 local time and arrived at O’Hare International Airport at 12:31, after nine hours and 52 minutes.

Initially, the service will start with six weekly flights, and from June 7, 2024, it will increase to one daily service. In addition, the Italian airline will continue to increase its North American offering this summer with the start of the Rome Fiumicino-Tronto Pearson route on May 10, 2024. The airline will offer 140 weekly flights between Italy and North America.

«Chicago’s enduring status as a world-class destination is due, in large part, to our two airports and their connections to the world. We are delighted to celebrate the launch of ITA Airways’ new nonstop service to Rome. We look forward to welcoming more visitors from Italy and throughout Europe to explore all Chicago has to offer,» said Rich Gamble, president and interim CEO of Choose Chicago.
