Hainan Airlines returned to the U.S. with flights to Seattle

On April 2, Hainan Airlines resumed its non-stop flights between Beijing and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport with three weekly flights, its first U.S. destination where the carrier resumed operations since the pandemic crisis.

Flight HU 495 was operated on a Boeing 787 registered as B-1343. The aircraft took off from Beijing-Capital Airport at 13:10 local time and landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 08:26, after ten hours and 16 minutes.

With a continually growing number of international trips, both inbound and outbound, we are working closely with airlines to meet demand and offer a variety of services and destinations around the world,» said Sam Cho, Port of Seattle Commissioner.

Flight Schedule

  • Beijing – Seattle Flight HU 495 PEK 13:10 – SEA 09:00 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • Seattle – Beijing Flight HU 496 SEA 11:00 – PEK 15:10+1 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Flights will be operated on Boeing 787-9 with 30 seats in Business Class and 262 in Economy,

Prior to the pandemic, Hainan Airlines moved approximately 200,000 passengers per year between Beijing and Seattle. With the new schedule, travelers will have more options for their travel between the United States and mainland China.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport provides 47 services to 31 international destinations on 25 different airlines. New service is expected from Alaska to Toronto, Lufthansa to Munich, Philippine Airlines to Manila, China Airlines, Delta Air Lines and STARLUX to Taipei.
