The inaugural flight of the Airbus A321neo (OE-ISH) took off from the Airbus production plant in Hamburg-Finkenwerder and landed at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, preparing for its entry into commercial service in easyJet’s maintenance hangar and will then be integrated into the easyJet Europe fleet. The new aircraft features a commemorative livery «a distinctive 400» consisting of small aircraft pictograms.
With 400 Airbus aircraft, easyJet is constantly modernizing its fleet and using more efficient and quieter aircraft. For example, easyJet used a SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) blend for the first time in Germany on the Hamburg-Finkenwerder to Berlin-Brandenburg flight.
The easyJet maintenance hangar, which became operational in January 2023 and is responsible for the maintenance of the airline’s entire European fleet, is now preparing new Airbus aircraft for scheduled service there. easyJet makes a significant contribution to connectivity in the capital region through Brandenburg Airport’s extensive route network.
