Azul To Add Paraguay as its Seventh International Market

-

Azul Airlines will add another country to its list of destinations: Paraguay, which will be its 7th international market and Asunción as its 9th international destination.

Today, the company already flies to Curaçao, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale in the USA, Paris in France, Lisbon in Portugal, Montevideo and Punta del Este in Uruguay, and will soon resume flights to Bariloche in Argentina.

And in December, another country will join the company’s list: Paraguay. The company announced today during the WTM (World Travel Market) fair in São Paulo, that it will have flights to Asunción, according to a report from our affiliated media in Brazil, Aeroin.

There will be regular flights operated with the Airbus A320neo departing from Campinas (Viracopos) and with the Embraer E195-E2 departing from Curitiba, as well as seasonal flights from Florianópolis and Recife.

Today, Paraguay is connected to Brazil by air only with flights from GOL and LATAM departing from the capital Asunción to Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo. Azul’s operation could be the largest between the two countries, depending on the frequency of flights to be offered.

GOL operates a daily flight between Asunción and São Paulo/Guarulhos on Boeing 737-700 aircraft, which translates to an offer of 966 weekly seats per direction.

LATAM, on its part, operates 12 weekly flights on the same route, offering 2,088 weekly seats per direction.

Details such as the exact start date of the routes, the beginning of sales, and flight schedules will be announced in the future.
