The Helicopter Company acquires 120 helicopters from Airbus

The Helicopter Company (THC) and Airbus Helicopters have signed a framework agreement for the acquisition of 120 helicopters, with deliveries expected over the next five to seven years. The contract was finalized during the HAI Heli-Expo.

The agreement encompasses the acquisition of various helicopter models, although specifics are not disclosed. Additionally, it confirms orders for eight H125s and ten H145s, which are converted options from a previous contract.

The new H125 helicopters will support THC’s range of services, including aerial work and tourism. Meanwhile, the H145s will be used for various functions, such as emergency medical services (EMS) and corporate transport.

Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, commented: «Our relationship with THC began in 2020 with the initial contract for 10 H125s. Since then, it has flourished, extending beyond helicopters to exploring how we can also facilitate the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in the region.»

«This latest agreement strengthens the scope of our offering, and we are grateful to THC for allowing us to contribute to expanding their helicopter operations,» Even added.

Captain Arnaud Martínez, CEO of THC, expressed: «We are thrilled to announce our agreement with Airbus, marking a transformative moment in our growth journey that solidifies our position as a global player and regional leader.»

«The agreement will enable us to contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives by bolstering the Saudi aviation sector while meeting the evolving needs of our growing customer base, both locally and globally,» he added.

The Helicopter Company is at the forefront of developing commercial helicopter services in the United Kingdom, having introduced the H145 for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and deploying both the H145 and H125 in support of the Dakar Rally.

Last year, the company received its first ACH160 for Red Sea Global tourism operations.

THC is the UK’s primary commercial helicopter operator, operating since mid-2019. It currently boasts 47 aircraft serving various segments, including EMS, aerial work, private charter flights, and tourism in the region.
