Venezuela – Algeria Flights, New Announcement from Conviasa

-

Two months before celebrating the 20th anniversary of its foundation, Conviasa announced that starting January 19th, it will begin flights between Caracas and Algiers, the capital of Algeria, in North Africa.

Conviasa had already made a similar announcement in June 2022, but the flights did not sustain over time, a situation that has also occurred in the past with other quite unusual destinations for a South American airline, such as Damascus (Syria), Tehran (Iran), Doha (Qatar), and Luanda (Angola).

The post on the social network X (formerly known as Twitter) indicates that more information about rates and availability can be found on the website of the Venezuelan state airline, but Algiers is not listed there among the available destinations. We have contacted the Whatsapp number listed in another post but have not received a response.

For January, specific dates are listed for Conviasa flights that connect Caracas with Havana, Guayaquil, Quito, Cancun, Moscow, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Kingstown, and Mexico City (NLU), as well as the routes Puerto Ordaz – Manaus, Managua – Havana, and Havana – Moscow.

Last week, the International Center for Productive Investment, a state entity responsible for promoting investments in Venezuela, reported that a meeting was held between Venezuelan and Algerian authorities to organize «business meetings to formalize agreements related to industrial, commercial, tourism, multimodal transport, petrochemical, gas, fishing, agriculture, and trade sectors, among others.»
