Turpial Airlines began operations at Arturo Michelena International Airport and El Dorado International Airport. This is the airline’s third international route from Valencia.
Flights from Valencia will take off on Wednesdays and Sundays at 20:00 and land in Bogota at 20:45. The return flight will depart from El Dorado Airport at 07:15 on Mondays and Thursdays, arriving at Arturo Michelena Airport at 10:00. All at local times.
This new airline destination will reinforce the commercial, industrial and tourist development of the state of Carabobo, and is also the second route between Colombia and Venezuela, after the Caracas-Bogota link. This milestone comes from the negotiations between both nations with the aim of boosting air connectivity.
This service has also been made possible by exceeding the national and international standards and controls established by airport authorities and bodies to guarantee safe air transport for the safety of passengers, such as the one provided by Arturo Michelena International Airport, in conjunction with SENIAT, the National Guard, the Aeronautical Fire Department and private air service providers,
The inaugural flight was attended by Jesus Lopez, president of the Carabobo Airports Institute; Rafes Torres Aguirreche, vice-president of Turpial Airlines; airline executives and special guests. The Valencia-based airline was the first authorised airline to resume flights between Colombia and Venezuela since the outbreak of the pandemic.
«Today we are honoured to be the first airline to restart operations to the Republic of Colombia, starting 2024 with this important flight, hoping it will be a year of many opportunities, growth and development to continue to increase commercially,» said Rafael Torres Aguirreche, vice president of Turpial Airlines.
