Spirit Airlines celebrates three decades of presence in Southwest Florida with a new nonstop connection between Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport.

The low-cost carrier began its first service in Fort Myers in 1993 and has grown to provide a nonstop connection to 14 destinations and 20 departures on peak days from the Midwest to the East Coast,

Flight NK 375 was operated on an Airbus A320neo registered as N692NK. The aircraft took off from Southwest Florida International Airport at 09:46 local time and landed at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport at 13:00, after two hours and 14 minutes.

«RSW is a long-time great partner of Spirit Airlines, and we are grateful to the Fort Myers community for their continued support in adding the only nonstop service to SJU on our 30th anniversary. Spirit’s new service to San Juan follows the airline’s recent launch of three new routes from RSW to Charleston (CHS), Norfolk (ORF) and Richmond (RIC) in November,» said John Kirby, Spirit Airlines’ Vice President of Network Planning.
