Sao Paulo’s Third Airport Achieves Passenger Traffic Record in 2023

Concessionaire Aeroporto Brasil Viracopos reported that Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas, Sao Paulo reached a new annual record in passenger traffic. The airport operator recorded 12.5 million passengers at the terminal, representing an increase of 5.7% over the previous year.

Viracopos Airport mobilized 1,085,500 international passengers. against 727,770 in 2022, resulting in an increase of 48.04%. The previous record of international passenger traffic at Viracopos was 977,500 in 2019.

According to the concessionaire, international traffic will continue to grow in 2024, in April 2023, Viracopos obtained a second non-stop European link to Orly Airport, in Paris (France), operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas with six weekly flights. In addition to the services to the European capital, Viracopos has international connections to Ft. Orlando and Lisbon.

Aeroporto Brasil Viracopos is in negotiations for new international routes, both passenger and cargo. The company participated in the World Routes held in Istanbul where it presented a special incentive package for new routes to North America, Central America, Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as resuming connections with neighboring South American countries.
