Royal Jordanian receives two Embraer E195-E2s and updates 40-year livery

Royal Jordanian, the flagship airline of Jordan, welcomed its first two Embraer E195-E2 aircraft at its base in Queen Alia International Airport, Amman (AMM). The planes arrived in the Jordanian capital at 12:20 (local time) on a ferry flight from San Jose dos Campos.

Additionally, the new E195-E2 aircraft feature Royal Jordanian’s new corporate identity, marking the end of over 40 years with the same design. Aircraft such as the Airbus A310, Lockheed L-1011 TriStar, and Boeing 747-200, among others, have sported the colors that the airline is changing today.

In May 2023, Royal Jordanian confirmed an order for 8 aircraft from the E-jet E2 family. The deal includes the acquisition of four E190-E2 and four E195-E2, with delivery scheduled for the last quarter of 2023.

Six of these planes (four E190-E2 and two of the E195-E2) come from the order portfolio of the lessor Azorra, while the remaining two are part of the firm order placed by the airline with the Brazilian manufacturer and were classified as «undisclosed» in the fourth-quarter 2022 results report.

The new aircraft are equipped with onboard wifi service. The airline has not disclosed the cabin configuration, but according to our affiliated source Aeroin, the planes feature emergency exits over the wings, allowing them to accommodate between 132 and 136 passengers.
