JetSMART Launches Domestic Flights in Colombia

At an event that took place this Wednesday (24) in Bogotá, JetSMART officially launched the sale of tickets for its domestic flights in Colombia. The regular operation will debut on March 14th.

This marks a key step in the ultra-low-cost expansion, entering one of the most important markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, and adding to its subsidiaries in Chile, Argentina, and Peru.

JetSMART Colombia will initially fly from Bogotá to Medellín, Pereira, Cartagena, and Santa Marta; from Medellín to Santa Marta and Cartagena; and between Cartagena and Pereira.

This domestic offering will be complemented by the international network connecting Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali with Santiago de Chile; Cali with Antofagasta; and Medellín, Cartagena, and Cúcuta with Lima.

Estuardo Ortiz, CEO of JetSMART, stated, “Today, we are making history in Colombia, with the start of sales for our domestic flights in the country. Our Ultra-Low-Cost model, proven in the region, has allowed us to bring over 25 million people, flying SMART at ultra-low prices on new planes.”

He also added, “We see enormous potential in Colombia to bring low-cost air travel to all Colombians, as well as connect with international destinations to promote development, tourism, and connectivity. The ultra-low-cost model is back in Colombia.”
