Emirates increases its operation in Australia

Emirates is strengthening its Australian operation by adding a new frequency and increasing capacity on an existing route. From October 1, the second daily flight to Brisbane (EK430/EK431) will be operated on the Airbus A380.

At Perth, an additional flight operated on Boeing 777-300ERs will be added from December 1, flight EK 424 will depart Dubai at 09:15 and arrive at 00:05 the following day. The return flight will depart Perth at 06:00 and arrive in Dubai at 13:00. All times are local.

It is a demonstration of the importance of both gateways for tourism and trade, and Emirates’ commitment to ensuring convenient schedules and comfortable connections to and through Dubai,» said Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia at Emirates.

Through increased operations on the Brisbane service and the additional flight to Perth, the airline will increase weekly capacity to Australia by an additional 6,900 seats, catering to the growing demand for international travel through Dubai and beyond the airline’s global network of 140 destinations. It will also facilitate air connectivity for export and import shipments.

The second daily connection between Dubai and Perth provides connections to Europe, Africa and the Middle East ensuring more travel options, Customers flying from Brisbane to popular destinations such as the UK, Italy, France, Turkey, Pakistan and Egypt will benefit from the increased capacity with the Airbus A380.

From June 2023, a second daily flight to Brisbane (EK430/EK431) operated on Boeing 777-300ERs was introduced, made possible by the Queensland government’s Attracting Aviation Investment Fund. The service is estimated to add an additional 129,210 seats, including an additional 38,610 Queensland visitors, and will provide overnight visitor spend of $75 million per year.

Emirates currently has 63 weekly flights scheduled in Australia to Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney on a combination of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs serving 56,000 passengers per week to and from these major cities. Recently, the airline doubled its Premium Economy seating offer in Melbourne as of February 1, the service has two daily flights operated with four-class A380s.
