Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic celebrate 10th anniversary of partnership

Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic commemorate 10 years of their partnership between the two airlines by offering customers more options for travel between the United States and the United Kingdom since 2014. The partnership was expanded with the addition of Air France – KLM, forming the leading transatlantic Joint Venture.

Since the inception of the partnership, the two global airline brands have extended their shared network, adding more routes and flights between the US and UK and moving nearly 40 million passengers across the Atlantic between the two countries.

“Back in 2014, the partnership agreement was a game-changer for Delta, allowing us to increase competition on the most popular business routes between London Heathrow and the United States, offering customers greater choice, while providing Virgin Atlantic with unprecedented access to Delta’s network across North America,” said Matteo Curcio, Delta’s S.V.P.-EMEAI.

In addition. Delta and Virgin Atlantic customers will have greater benefits on travel between the U.S. and U.K.

  • More choice: Between them, the two airlines offer up to 86 daily flights between the U.K. and the U.S., including 34 daily departures from London Heathrow to 15 U.S. airports. In addition, Virgin Atlantic announced it has joined Skyteam along with Delta and Air France. KLM.
  • New technologies: Real-time RFID system through the Fly Delta app and biometric scanning at airports in the US. Seamless connections: Customers have access to more than 220 destinations in North America.
  • Product innovation: Both airlines offer four different experiences and Wi-Fi.

  • Increased reciprocity: More opportunities to earn and redeem miles, making travel more rewarding.
  • Efficient cargo management: The airlines’ shared cargo facilities at London Heathrow are capable of handling same-day shipments of all types of goods.
