Mandarin Airlines received first ATR 72-600 equipped with PW127XT engines

Mandarin Airlines has received its first ATR 72-600 equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW127XT engines. This aircraft marks the beginning of the delivery of a total of six units ordered from the French manufacturer. While the airline already operates this aircraft model, this particular unit is the first to be equipped with this new engine.

The PW127XT engines offer a 20% reduction in maintenance costs and consume 3% less fuel compared to previous engine models. With these features, the turbojets set new standards in fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and NOx.

The aircraft began its delivery flight from the facilities of ATR in Toulouse, using a 30% blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). It is worth noting that the new engines are certified to use up to a 50% SAF blend.

Based at Songshan Airport in Taipei, the airline has established itself as a key player in the Taiwanese market, flying from Songshan to 22 domestic and international destinations, including China.

The introduction of this new batch of ATR 72-600 aircraft will not only enhance the operational capabilities of Mandarin Airlines but also contribute additional capacity to existing routes. This will strengthen service comfort, stimulate economic growth, and promote tourism throughout Taiwan, offering an unparalleled experience to passengers.

Currently, Mandarin Airlines operates a total of nine ATR 72-600 aircraft with a capacity for 70 passengers, all equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW127M engines.
