Lynx Air unveiled its new flights for summer of 2024: the Canadian low-cost airline will operate between Ottawa (YOW) and Vancouver (YVR), and Halifax (YHZ) and St. John’s (YYT) starting in May and April, respectively.
Coast to Coast
The low-cost airline has released its schedule for summer 2024, including coast-to-coast flights between Ottawa and Vancouver starting May 17. The route will be operated with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, featuring eight weekly flights with a stopover in the city of Calgary.

Lynx CEO Jim Sullivan said: “We are thrilled to add Ottawa, the capital of Canada, to the Lynx Air network as we progress in our schedule for the summer of 2024. While Ottawa is a beautiful destination to visit at any time of the year, Lynx takes pride in being the only low-cost airline currently serving this market nationally from Calgary and Vancouver.”

From Nova Scotia to Newfoundland
Continuing with announcements for summer 2024, Lynx Air has launched a new route between Halifax and St. John’s. This connection will serve as an extension of flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).
The route will begin operating from April 10, 2024, initially with four weekly flights, later increasing to daily flights from July. The itineraries will be operated with Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.
“Following the success of our flights to Halifax and St. John’s from Toronto and Montreal, connecting these two cities was the next natural step. There are strong connections between the communities of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, and we are proud to offer an ultra-affordable link to connect them,” said Vijay Bathija, Lynx’s Chief Commercial Officer.
“Our strategy is to fly to destinations where airfares are too high, and low-cost options are limited. By offering ultra-affordable fares, we aim to encourage more Canadians to travel to see their loved ones and favorite places and everything these destinations have to offer,” he added.
Lynx Air has a fleet of nine Boeing 737 MAX (-8) aircraft, with the tenth expected to arrive in the coming weeks. The airline’s main base is at Calgary Airport, Alberta, operating to nine destinations: 5 domestic and 4 in the U.S. Additionally, it has another base at Toronto Airport, operating a network of ten destinations: 5 domestic and 5 in the U.S.
