With a clearer forecast for the start and conclusion of the works at Fernando de Noronha airport, GOL has already booked its return to the paradise island. The company stopped flying to the island at the end of last year, when ANAC declared the runway unsuitable for jets due to the poor state of the pavement.
Since then, only Azul and VOEPASS, with ATR turboprops, fly commercially to the island. However, the local government recently announced that the runway will be cleared for jets from mid-2024 and GOL is already planning its return.
