Alaska Airlines inaugurates flights to Guatemala

On 15 December 2023, Alaska Airlines began non-stop flights to La Aurora International Airport. This is the carrier’s third Central American destination from Los Angeles, complemented by operations to San Jose, Costa Rica and Liberia/Guanacaste.

The carrier will have a 2,226-seat weekly offer between Los Angeles and Guatemala City, competing in this segment with Avianca, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Volaris.

Flight AS 1353 will fly daily from Los Angeles International Airport at 23:15 and land at La Aurora International Airport at 06:00 the following day. The return AS 1354 departs Guatemala City at 11:45 and arrives in Los Angeles at 15:10.

The service will be operated on Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft with 159 seats (12 First Class/30 Premium Economy). Customers can access the airline’s West Coast network.

Alaska Airlines is the seventh US carrier to fly to Guatemala along with American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, United and Spirit. By December, Alaska’s Latin America and Caribbean network from Los Angeles will have services to Belize, Cancun, Guadalajara, Liberia/Guanacaste, Loreto, Mazatlan, Nassau, Puerto Vallarta, San Jose del Cabo, San Jose Costa Rica, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Manzanillo and Guatemala City.
