Viva Aerobus begins nonstop flights between Monterrey and Tapachula

Starting November 2, Viva Aerobus increased its operations in southern Mexico with a new nonstop service between Monterrey and Tapachula International Airport. By next year, the low cost airline will have 49 routes to and from Monterrey, 15 international destinations in the United States, Colombia and Cuba and 35 domestic services.

Flight VB 4386 was operated in an Airbus A320neo registered XA-VIK. The aircraft departed General Mariano Escobedo International Airport at 11:24 local time and arrived at Tapachula International Airport at 13:20, after one hour and 55 minutes.

According to the airline, this year it has boosted connectivity in Monterrey with the inauguration of new routes to Mexicali, Bogota and Puerto Escondido, and also reactivated its Cozumel and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo services. In addition, Viva Aerobus will add new connections to Tulum, La Paz, Austin, Denver, Miami, New York JFK, Oakland and Orlando.

Monterrey – Tapachula flight schedule

Monterrey – Tapachula Flight VB 4386 MTY 10:45 – TAP 13:05 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Tapachula – Monterrey Flight VB 4397 TAP 13:45 – TAP 16:20 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

According to Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte’s (OMA) third quarter report, the highest growth in passenger traffic at Monterrey Airport was 23.9% over the same period in 2022 was on routes to: Toluca, Queretaro, Cancun, San Lucia (AIFA), Mexico City and Houston.
