Air Lease Corporation and Egyptair signed a long-term leasing agreement for 18 new Boeing 737 MAX 8s, which will be delivered between 2025 and 2026. The aircraft will be used to renew their oldest single-aisle fleet, which in the case of the A320s, currently average 18 years old.
This agreement, announced today at the Dubai Airshow 2023, represents a double first: it is the first agreement between Egyptair and ALC, and it also marks the addition of the MAX to its fleet, which is currently made up of 28 Boeing 737-800, 12 Airbus A220-300, 10 A320, 7 A321neo, 7 A330-200, 4 A330-300, 6 Boeing 777-300ER, and 7 Boeing 787-9.
