The Serra da Capivara Airport, located in São Raimundo Nonato, Piauí, offers more flights this week, thanks to the expansion of services provided by Azul Linhas Aéreas. The route between São Raimundo Nonato and Recife, with a stopover in Petrolina (Pernambuco), will be available on Tuesdays, in addition to Thursdays and Sundays, as in the past.

This expansion responds to the growing passenger demand to the region, driven both by the local attractiveness and the tourist potential of the area, especially the Serra da Capivara National Park, one of the main tourist attractions in Piauí, as reported by the Government of Piauí through its press service.

Setur’s Director of Events and Sponsorships, José Neto Monteiro, points out that this increase in demand for the destination reflects positively on the strengthening of Piauí’s destinations. He emphasizes that the measure contributes to the growth of the tourism sector, generating new opportunities, and believes that the action will be able to attract a greater number of foreign tourists.
