Arajet Receives Start-Up Airline of the Year at CAPA Awards

-

At the World Aviation Summit taking place this week in Abu Dhabi, Arajet was recognized with the CAPA Award as the Start-up Airline of the Year, a significant achievement for the Caribbean company that in just one year has developed a network of more than twenty destinations in America from its hub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Arajet competed alongside twenty other airlines that started their operations in the last three years, being recognized as «the most innovative among all new airlines and the one with the greatest impact on the global aviation industry».

«We are very proud of this award, which is the recognition of a dream come true. Arajet is the story of a startup that was born from the desire for the Dominican diaspora to travel to our country at low prices. Today that dream is much bigger because we have turned the Dominican Republic into the new hub of the American continent, connecting 22 destinations in 16 countries that allow more than 150 connection possibilities, in just one year,» said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet.

The airline already operates a fleet of six Boeing 737 MAX 8, and maintains an order that would bring it to over 45 aircraft by the year 2027, thus generating a new and important flow of continental traffic through Santo Domingo, but that will also serve to cater to the important local market of the Dominican Republic, one of the main tourist destinations in the region.
