As a result of financial problems, Alitalia ceased operations in mid-2021, being replaced by ITA Airways since the end of that year.

Currently, ITA offers 7 weekly flights to Buenos Aires and 11 to Sao Paulo, and will resume services to Rio de Janeiro in November. The Italian airline does not operate to Santiago.
