Mexico: Monterrey airport receives its first non-stop flight from Canada

-

On October 30, Air Canada began non-stop flights between Toronto-Pearson and Monterrey International Airport, the first route between the state capital of Nuevo Leon and Canada, reinforcing air connectivity between both regions.

Flight AC 1359 was operated in an A220 registered with the registration number C-GTZW. The aircraft took off from Lester Pearson International Airport at 19:28 local time and landed at General Mariano Escobedo International Airport at 21:23, after four hours and five minutes.

Monterrey is the Canadian airline’s newest destination in Mexico, which is complemented by the company’s operations in Cancun, Cozumel, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, San Jose del Cabo and Zihuatanejo. During the winter season, the company will offer more than 24,000 seats per week between Canada and Mexico.

Monterrey continues to strengthen its network of connections, providing attractive international routes that contribute to the economic growth of Nuevo Leon and in turn benefit tourism and business travel between the two destinations,” said Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA.
