On October 29, LATAM Airlines Group reached an important milestone by inaugurating its flights between Lima (LIM), Peru, and Atlanta (ATL), United States. This new service marks the sixth destination of the airline in the United States, starting initially with three weekly flights and increasing to a daily flight for the second quarter of 2024.
This achievement stems from the joint venture between Delta and LATAM that began last year and has resulted in six new routes, more than 15,000 flights, and the transportation of over 3 million passengers.
To enhance connectivity between South America and the United States, the LATAM Group has announced four new routes for the Northern winter season. One of these key routes is the connection between Lima, one of LATAM’s main hubs, and Atlanta, Delta’s primary base of operations.

According to the Cirium platform, for the upcoming Northern summer of 2024, the LATAM Group will offer a total of 135 weekly flights in the United States, equivalent to 20 flights per day each way. This will translate to over 33,000 weekly seats, representing a market share of 19.4%.
Despite its significant growth, LATAM ranks as the second most important airline in terms of seat offerings and frequencies between South America and the United States, with American Airlines in the first position with 43,000 seats per week to South America.
