FlyVbird signs letter of intent for 25 Alice electric aircraft

The European regional airline FlyVbird has recently signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Eviation Aircraft for the acquisition of 25 Alice aircraft, along with 25 options. The primary mission of this new airline is to enhance connectivity in rural areas by making use of small and easily accessible airports. Furthermore, they will offer on-demand flights, allowing passengers to choose their preferred routes.

FlyVbird is working towards obtaining its air operator certificate, which will enable it to operate Alice aircraft on decentralized and sustainable routes across Europe. The project is centered on connecting communities currently lacking direct air transportation services or unsatisfied with existing commercial aviation options.

Eddie Jaisaree, Vice President of Commercial Sales at Eviation, said «The European Union is making significant strides with innovative and ambitious regulations aimed at reducing carbon emissions in the aviation industry. Alice, with its pioneering and aesthetically pleasing design, is indispensable in leading the aerospace industry toward achieving net-zero carbon emissions. We are thrilled to partner with FlyVbird in shaping the future of aviation.»

«The fact that Alice is an aircraft free of carbon emissions, noise-efficient, and comes with low operational costs makes it the ideal solution for FlyVbird to provide clean, personalized, and regional travel services across Europe in the next decade and beyond. Through our AI-driven approach, we will introduce alternatives to the traditional ‘hub-and-spoke’ operations, and Alice will play a crucial role in this transformation,» Anton Lutz, CEO of FlyVbird, conveyed during the Routes World 2023 Conference in Istanbul.
