More than 3.7 million passengers visited Guarulhos Airport in August 2023

The concessionaire of Guarulhos Airport reports that São Paulo International Airport recorded 24,000 landings and takeoffs and handled about 3.7 million passengers in August.

With August’s figures, the cumulative movement since January reaches 27 million people embarked and disembarked at the terminals of Brazil’s busiest airport in 2023, as announced by AEROIN.

Domestic flights

In August, domestic operations, which connected Guarulhos Airport with 50 domestic destinations, recorded an average of 80,000 passengers per day. In terms of the number of flights, there were 17,865 landings and takeoffs, an average of 576 operations per day. Rio de Janeiro, Recife and Porto Alegre were the most popular destinations in the last two months.

In the previous month, July, the vacation period, domestic operations averaged 83,000 passengers per day, with 18,402 landings and takeoffs, an average of 593 operations a day, connecting 51 domestic destinations.

International flights

During the peak vacation season, in July, international flights moved around 41,000 passengers per day, with 6,343 landings and takeoffs. In August, traffic was about 40,000 passengers a day, with 6,321 landings and takeoffs.

Currently, 43 airlines operate at GRU airport.
