Azul expands operations in Belo Horizonte with a new flight to Orlando, Florida

-

On September 24, Azul will operate its first non-stop service between Belo Horizonte and Orlando, Florida. This operation boosts the airline’s operations at Confins International Airport, one of the company’s main hubs. Azul currently has a schedule of 90 daily flights to 49 domestic and international destinations at Belo Horizonte.

Flight AD 8730 will depart the capital of Mina Gerais at 09:30 and arrive in Florida at 17:30, while flight AD 8731 will take off from Orlando International Airport at 21:00 and land in Belo Horizonte at 06:00 the following day. The route will have a schedule of two flights per week (Tuesday and Thursday) operated on Airbus A330-900neo and A330-200.

In 2023, the airline marked an important milestone with the start of its direct flights from Belo Horizonte to Curaçao, the only connection between Confins International Airport and the Caribbean. Currently, this service has a schedule of one weekly frequency performed in Airbus A320.

In addition, starting in December, the company will increase seat capacity on its regional routes in Minas Gerais. The route connecting the capital with Varginha will have an increase from 36 to 54 seats. Similarly, Araxá will have an increase from 63 to 280 seats, while Patos de Mina will increase from 27 to 210 seats per week. These adjustments will be made by upgrading aircraft and flight frequency.

Starting in October, the Brazilian airline will operate five new destinations in the Northeast from Belo Horizonte to Aracaju, João Pessoa, Maceió, Natal and Teresina, and in the high season, it will have new ones to Santarém, Navegantes and Foz do Iguaçu, the second busiest airport in the period.

Complementing the services to Orlando, Azul started in June a new route between Belo Horizonte and Fort Lauderdale with three weekly flights (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays) operated by Airbus A330-900neo and A330-200. Flight AD 8732 departs Belo Horizonte at 08:20 and arrives in Orlando at 16:00, while flight AD 8733 takes off from Florida at 21:15 and lands at Confins International Airport at 06:15 the following day.
