LATAM Cargo to fly Boeing 767s between Miami and Brasilia

-

LATAM Cargo has just launched the cargo route between Miami and Brasilia with two weekly flights operated on Boeing 767-300F aircraft. The expansion of connectivity in the air cargo sector accelerates and optimizes the import of pharmaceuticals, electronics and general cargo from the United States to the Federal District, benefiting the supply chain of the entire Brazilian Midwest.

LATAM Cargo’s flight to Brasilia from Miami also handles cargo from Europe and Asia. The company expects to mobilize more than 2,000 tons per year on the new service, which is scheduled on Sundays and Thursdays.

«The Boeing 767-300F has the capacity to carry 53 tons per flight. Previously, to reach Brasilia, this cargo had to disembark and connect on other flights and airports. In practice, the Miami-Brasília route reduces the average import time from the United States to the Federal District from three days to one,» said Otávio Meneguette, director of LATAM Cargo in Brazil.

LATAM Cargo currently has a network of 49 cities in Brazil and connects the country with 19 other international destinations. The company carries out its transports in cargo aircraft and in the hold of LATAM’s fleet of passenger aircraft. The LATAM group currently has a fleet of 19 Boeing 767-300F and BCF aircraft.

In the last 36 months, the company has started three new cargo operations in Brazil: Miami – São José dos Campos, Miami-Florianópolis and Mexico City-Recife. According to ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency) data, LATAM Cargo is the leading international air cargo air operator in Brazil, considering the combined operations of all LATAM group subsidiaries in the country.
