JetBlue begins flights between New York and Amsterdam

JetBlue expands its presence in the Atlantic with the start of operations between New York JFK and Amsterdam: this new service complements the company’s European services at London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

Flight B6 2288 was operated on an Airbus A321LR registered as N4058J, which took off on August 29 from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 20:40 local time bound for Schiphol Airport.

In addition, the airline is scheduled to begin nonstop service between Boston and Amsterdam beginning September 20. JetBlue’s European network at Logan International Airport will have service to Schiphol Airport, London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick and soon to Paris by summer 2024.

JetBlue’s transatlantic service has proven to lower fares and benefit customers in markets that have suffered for decades from high legacy airline fares. We look forward to introducing our award-winning Mint and core service to business and leisure customers traveling to and from Amsterdam,” said Robin Hayes, JetBlue’s chief executive officer.

New York – Amsterdam Flight Schedule

  • New York – Amsterdam Flight B6 2288 JFK 20:00 – AMS 11:35+1 daily flights.
  • Amsterdam – New York Flight B6 2289 AMS 13:35 – JFK 16:20 daily flights.

The route is operated on Airbus A321LR aircraft with a capacity of 138 seats in two classes (24 Mint Suites/114 Economy) and promotional fares are available from $439 in Core and $1,756 in Mint. JetBlue’s new service will offer a new low-cost travel model focused on leisure and business travelers. In addition, the airline will offer travelers a wide range of entertainment services and free Wi-Fi service.

According to data compiled by Schiphol Airport statistics, 731,791 passengers were mobilized in 2022 between New York JFK and Amsterdam, making it the second most important transatlantic route in the Netherlands. JetBlue is currently the only airline offering narrowbody flights in this segment, where it competes with the Delta and KLM airline alliance.

It is a pleasure to welcome JetBlue to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and their contribution to the Schiphol network. “More importantly, with JetBlue deploying their new Airbus A321neo LR aircraft, they contribute to noise reduction and sustainability efforts,” said Ruud Sondag, president and CEO of Royal Schiphol Group.
