JAT Tehnika delivers the first European-converted 767-300

JAT Tehnika, a Serbian subsidiary of the Avia Prime Group, has completed the first passenger-to-cargo conversion of a Boeing 767-300 in Europe.

At 4:00 PM local time, the aircraft, registration 9H-CAC, took off from Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport destined for Valletta, the capital of Malta. The aircraft was in that instant officially transferred to Challenge Group, its owner and project leader, specializing in air freight services.

Piotr Kaczor, CEO of Avia Prime and Jat Tehnika, expressed his enthusiasm about the project’s completion in a press statement. «Today’s delivery marks the realization of a plan conceived six years ago. Our meticulous preparations, which involved thorough scrutiny by authorities, have culminated in the successful application of innovative technology, all here in Belgrade.»

«This event announces the beginning of a new era in Avia Prime Group’s history and in European aviation. Our role as the leading European service provider for wide-body aircraft conversion from Boeing and Airbus is now even stronger,» concluded the executive.

Yossi Shoukroun, CEO of Challenge Group, also added, «This moment is a fundamental milestone in our journey. However, this achievement means more than just adding a new aircraft model. It implies the start of our ambitious strategy to expand our fleet by 2026. This strategy includes incorporating three different aircraft models, including the highly efficient Boeing 777.»

Challenge Airlines, a Belgian cargo airline headquartered at Liège Airport, began its operations in mid 2019. The company provides air freight services throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
