Flydubai to receive four Boeing 737-800s from Smartwings in Wet-Lease

Flydubai announces agreement with Smartwings for wet-leasing of four Boeing 737-800, from October 17, 2023, to April 16, 2024.

The agreement includes the leasing of aircraft, experienced crew, specialized maintenance services, and comprehensive insurance coverage under the ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) model.

These four strategic additions, the Boeing 737-800, will seamlessly integrate with Flydubai’s current fleet, totaling 79 Boeing 737 aircraft, including 30 model 737-800, 46 model 737-8 MAX, and 3 model 737-9 MAX.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, expressed satisfaction with the agreement with Smartwings, highlighting their IOSA certification (IATA’s Operational Safety Audit) and experience in ACMI agreements.

The addition of the aircraft will support Flydubai’s operations, allowing an increase in network capacity and a continuous experience for passengers.

Jiri Juran, Chairman of the Board of Smartwings, underscored the significance of this collaboration and the opportunities to optimize the utilization of their aircraft during the winter season.

The aircraft, configured in economy cabin layout, will be deployed on selected routes of Flydubai, including destinations such as Chattogram, Colombo, Dhaka, Karachi, and Muscat.
