Cessna SkyCourier Awarded Type Certification in Brazil

Textron Aviation announced a milestone in Brazilian aviation with the type certification of the Cessna SkyCourier twin utility turboprop by the National Civil Aviation Authority of Brazil (ANAC). This landmark paves the way for the aircraft to meet Brazil’s diverse and growing aviation needs.

Designed for the Dynamic Brazilian Market

Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president of Global Sales and Flight Operations, emphasized the SkyCourier’s suitability for the Brazilian market, stating, “The Cessna SkyCourier’s high payload capacity, short takeoff and landing capability, and cost-efficiency make it a great choice for operators in Brazil. The aircraft’s versatility and performance equip customers in the region with smart solutions for their unique missions and circumstances.”

The SkyCourier offers a combination of features unmatched in the current market. Its adaptability enables seamless transitions between different mission profiles, including:

  • Passenger Transport: Enhancing regional connectivity and providing reliable passenger services.
  • Cargo Delivery: Efficient transportation to keep pace with the growing demand for air shipping.
  • Special Missions Operations: Ability to serve unique roles tailored to specific needs.

This multifaceted aircraft aligns perfectly with Brazil’s diverse geography, including remote locations with limited infrastructure.

Expanding Capabilities for Remote Reach

One of the distinguishing aspects of the SkyCourier is its short takeoff and landing capability, allowing it to operate from smaller runways and reach remote communities. The recently certified gravel kit option further enables the SkyCourier to operate from unimproved runways, thereby expanding its range and potential.

The Cessna SkyCourier’s type certification by ANAC opens new doors for aviation in Brazil. Its unparalleled performance, adaptability, and efficiency position it as an essential catalyst for enhanced regional connectivity, cargo transportation, and diverse operational applications.
