Avianca Launch Flights Between Medellin and San Juan (PR)

Avianca strengthens Antioquia’s connectivity with the Caribbean with a new non-stop service between Medellin and San Juan that will provide more travel opportunities between Colombia and Puerto Rico.

Flight schedule between Medellin and San Juan

Starts December 1, 2023.

  • Medellin – San Juan Flight AV 266 MDE 09:51 – SJU 13:36 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • San Juan – Medellín Flight AV 267 SJU 15:01 – MDE 16:46 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Avianca will offer more than 1,400 seats per week on this new service, which will be operated in Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats and a single cabin with three different types of seats (Premium, Plus and Economy). Promotional fares are available starting at $680 USD roundtrip.

More flights to Puerto Rico

In addition to the new service, Avianca is expanding its service between Bogota and San Juan by increasing from 7 to 10 weekly flights operated on Airbus A320s starting October 10. In total, the airline will have a schedule of two daily flights between Colombia and Puerto Rico in the period December 2023 and January 2024. Avianca offers the only non-stop connection between Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and South America

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Colombian Civil Aeronautics statistics, in 2022,  72,674 passengers were mobilized with an 85% load factor and 2,728.5 tons of cargobetween Bogota and San Juan.
