World2Fly Expands Dominican Republic Service and Now Connects Samana with Europe

World2Fly and tour operator Soltour started non-stop flights between Lisbon and Samaná, the first charter service took place on June 30, 2023. The leisure airline is the only airline to offer transatlantic flights at El Catey Airport during the high season.

Tomeu Benassar, CEO of Soltour, says: «We are convinced that this bet by Soltour will lead to a substantial increase in the number of Portuguese travelers to Samana. For our part, we are very happy to have a partner like Soltour. With these direct flights to Samana, we continue to reaffirm our commitment to the Dominican Republic».

Flight 3P 3163 was operated in an Airbus A350 registered as EC-NOI, which took off from Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) at 17:08 local time and landed at El Catey International Airport (AZS) at 19:36, after seven hours and 28 minutes.

With this new service, World2Fly is the European airline offering the most destinations in the Dominican Republic during the high season. In addition to its flights to Samaná, the company also operates in Santo Domingo, Punta Cana and Santiago de los Caballeros.

Flight Schedule from Samana to World2Fly

  • Lisbon – Samana Flight 3P 3163 LIS 16:25 – AZS 19:15 Friday.
  • Samana – Lisbon Flight 3P 3164 AZS 21:15 – LIS 09:35+1 Friday.

Route details

  • The service operates seasonally and will operate until September 8, 2023.

The route is operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft with a seating capacity of 432 in single configuration and package holiday offers are available from 995 euros.

For the summer season, World2Meet’s airline schedule will have non-stop flights from Lisbon to Cancun, Varadero, Punta Cana and now Samana. In total, World2Fly has an offer of 4,320 weekly seats to and from the Portuguese capital according to Cirium.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline, through La Junta de Aviación Civil (JAC), World2Fly mobilized 27,245 passengers between Portugal and the Dominican Republic in 2022 in 77 operations.

From Madrid (MAD):

  • Santiago de los Caballeros (STI): Wednesday.
  • Samaná (AZS): Thursday.
  • Punta Cana (PUJ): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
  • Santo Domingo (SDQ): Thursday and Sunday.

From Lisbon (LIS):

  • Samana (AZS): Friday.
  • Punta Cana (PUJ): Monday and Tuesday.
