Medellín, Cartagena, and Cúcuta: JetSMART Peru Expands Lima Network with Three New Routes

-

JetSMART announced the addition of three new international routes: tickets sales are now open for flights between Lima and three Colombian cities: Medellín, Cartagena, and Cúcuta.

«JetSMART is thrilled to introduce three new international routes from Lima to Medellín, Cartagena, and Cúcuta, which are renowned for their tourism appeal and rich cultural experiences,» stated Benjamin Dulanto, Commercial Manager of JetSMART in Peru. «This expansion aligns with our strategy to enhance regional connectivity while providing passengers with affordable, safe, and straightforward flights.»

The Medellín route is set to launch on November 8, with a frequency of five flights per week, ramping up to daily flights by late November. Flights to Cartagena and Cúcuta will start on December 7 and 12, respectively, each with three operations per week. All operations will be covered by JetSMART’s Airbus A320neo fleet, with 186 seats in a single-class configuration.

This expansion also resonates with Gilberto Salcedo, Vice President of Tourism at ProColombia. He noted that, «JetSMART’s announcement to open new routes from Lima to Medellín, Cartagena, and Cúcuta from November and December represents a significant milestone in our strategy to expand international air connectivity to non-traditional destinations.»

«This initiative strengthens the ties between Peru and Colombia, decentralizes tourism, and offers opportunities to explore new locations like Cúcuta, with its key positioning in the Eastern Andes of Colombia. We welcome this substantial step and are committed to supporting this expansion for its ongoing success,» he added.

JetSMART is the only airline that connects Lima with Cúcuta directly, a key destination for the Colombian-Velezuelan market for its position close to the border and its cultural and economic relevance.

In celebration of these exciting new routes, JetSMART has launched a special promotion, with fares to all three destinations start from just 82 dollars one-way, inclusive of taxes and fees. This promotion is available until July 24.
