With the start of the vacation season in Berlin, it is evident that residents of the German capital are looking to take air travel during the first summer season without travel restrictions and are taking advantage of Eurowings‘ doubled offer from Brandenburg Airport.

The Lufthansa Group’s leisure airline connects Berlin with 30 popular beach and city destinations. The Eurowings summer vacation ranking shows the top cities where travelers prefer to fly from the German capital and flights are still available for spontaneous tourists.

TOP 3 top beach holiday destinations from Berlin

Palma de Mallorca is indisputably the top favorite holiday destination for Berliners. Eurowings has a schedule of three daily flights operated on Airbus A320s with a capacity of 180 passengers between Berlin and Mallorca, this represents a 40% increase in seat supply compared to last year’s summer season.

The second most popular destination is the largest island of Greece: Heraklion. Closing the TOP 3 is a multifaceted peninsular destination: Malaga, Spain. Both cities have a schedule of five flights a week on Airbus A320s.

From Berlin, city breaks to the North are in vogue

Eurowings‘ expansion at Brandenburg Airport is focusing on Northern Europe, the three urban destinations for the summer are located in Scandinavia. Stockholm is establishing itself as the urban destination of choice for Berliners, where the airline offers 10 flights a week. Helsinki and Gothenburg appear for the first time in the ranking, both with a schedule of four weekly flights.

Last-minute offers

City, beach or mountain: Eurowings continues to offer various deals to spontaneous travelers flying from Berlin. In Scandinavia there are fares to Copenhagen, Denmark for €49.99 each way. Service to Ibiza in the Balearic Islands base fares in August start from €39.99 one way. Travelers looking for snowy destinations can get promotions on flights to the Austrian city of Graz from 59.99 euros one way.
