In Bengaluru, India, Argentina’s Defense Minister Jorge Taiana is set to sign a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on Thursday, 20th July, for an undisclosed number of LUH (Light Utility Helicopter) Mk1 helicopters.
The helicopter was evaluated by Argentine personnel in October 2022 during an official visit to the Defence Expo held in Gandhinagar.
As confirmed by defense sources, the LOI would include 20 helicopters along with their logistical and maintenance support. Total price details, delivery schedule, and financing arrangements will be disclosed at a later stage.
Indian media rumors, echoed globally, suggested the signing of a preliminary contract for LCH Prachand attack helicopters, a capability long demanded by the Army Aviation, but which is not currently prioritized. It also hinted at further negotiations concerning the LCA Tejas aircraft.
