Norse Atlantic Airways began transatlantic operations in Italy on June 19 with a non-stop flight between Rome – Fiumicino and New York. With this new connection, the Italian capital is the low-cost airline’s fifth destination to John F. Kennedy Airport, complementing services to Oslo, London – Gatwick, Paris – Charles de Gaulle and Berlin.
Flight N0 401 was operated in a Boeing 787 registered as LN-FNB and christened «Rondane». The aircraft took off from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) at 19:27 local time and landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 21:46, after eight hours and 19 minutes.
For this summer season, Norse Atlantic will offer 18,928 weekly seats between Europe and New York on 56 operations, making the Big Apple its main transatlantic market. In addition, the airline is the only low-cost carrier to offer long-haul flights from the Italian capital to the United States.

Norse flight schedule between Rome and New York
- Rome – New York JFK Flight N0 401 FCO 18:55 – JFK 22:30 daily flights.
- New York JFK – Rome Flight N0 402 JFK 00:30 – FCO 15:15 daily flights.
The route is operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 338 passengers in two classes (56 Premium Economy/282 Economy) and ticket promotions are available from EUR 265 each way, including taxes and fees.
According to information gathered through the Italian National Agency for Civil Aviation (ENAC), 811,690 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Rome – Fiumicino and New York JFK, being the second most important intercontinental market in Italy. Norse Atlantic currently competes in this segment with legacy carriers such as American Airlines, Delta and Ita Airways.
