Latin America and Caribbean Destinations Get a Boost with American Airlines’ Major Winter Schedule

American Airlines launched the largest flight schedule to Latin America and the Caribbean for a winter season in its history, in which it will operate an average of about 2,250 weekly flights to 90 destinations, representing a growth of 10% compared to the same period last year.

The company will launch two new routes and increase its capacity on 21 routes to the region.

Flights from Charlotte

American Airlines will add new flights on 10 routes from its hub in Charlotte (CLT) starting December 5, which will mean a 40% increase in seats to Latin America and the Caribbean.

• Belize City: one daily flight.
• Cancun: five daily flights.
• Curacao: one daily flight.
• Liberia, Costa Rica: one daily flight.
• Los Cabos, Mexico: one daily flight.
• Montego Bay, Jamaica: four daily flights.
• Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic: one daily flight.
• Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: four daily flights.
• San Juan, Puerto Rico: four daily flights.
• St. Croix, US Virgin Islands: one daily flight.

Flights to Mexico

On December 9, American Airlines will start flying to Cancun from Nashville and Cincinnati. The service will extend until March.

From Dallas/Fort Worth, the company will expand its offer to these destinations:

• Acapulco: three weekly flights.
• Huatulco: four weekly flights.
• Monterrey: five daily flights.
• Puerto Vallarta: four daily flights.
• Los Cabos: five daily flights.
• Zacatecas: one daily flight.
• Zihuatanejo: one daily flight.

Miami Hub

At Miami International Airport, American Airlines will have more than 140 daily flights to 70 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In addition to increasing long-haul flights such as Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, the company will also increase its capacity from Miami to these destinations:

• Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: two daily flights.
• Santiago, Dominican Republic: two daily flights.
• Tortola, British Virgin Islands: two daily flights.
