Hendsoldt’s four TRML-4D radars are part of the second batch of IRIS-T SLM air defense system that Germany is delivering to Kiev.
The company reported that it will supply four more TRML-4D high-performance radars for Diehl Defence’s IRIS-T SLM air defense system, which ensures the protection of Ukraine against attacks from the air. Under a double-digit Diehl Defence order, the TRML-4D radars will be delivered to Diehl throughout 2024, starting in January.
Thomas Müller, CEO of HENSOLDT, said: «This order is the result of the excellent operational results reported back from Ukraine. We are proud to be able to help further strengthen Ukraine’s defence capability. These radars protect lives!»
TRML-4D uses the latest digital radar technology. It is capable of detecting, tracking and classifying different types of aerial targets. One focus is on small, fast and low-flying and/or manoeuvring cruise missiles as well as aircraft and helicopters. It ensures the rapid detection and tracking of about 1,500 targets in a radius of up to 250 km.
This order follows the earlier delivery of six other radars of the same type to Ukraine, one of which was successfully attacked by a Russian Lancet marauding munition.
