Envoy Air, an American regional airline, has made its last commercial flight with the regional jet Embraer ERJ-145, marking the end of an era for the company. Flight AA4233, which operated between Central Wisconsin (CWA) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD), signaled the end of a chapter in Envoy Air’s history.
After being part of Envoy Air’s fleet for 25 years, the Embraer ERJ-145 has transported more than 150 million passengers and has made a total of 4 million operations. With this last flight, the airline bids farewell to the aircraft that has been its mainstay for so long.

Envoy Air managed to operate 177 jets from the Embraer ERJ family, with 59 units of the ERJ-140 model and 118 of the ERJ-145 model. However, at present, these small aircraft of up to 50 seats have been replaced by modern Embraer E-170s, making up a fleet of 127 aircraft.
Dee Temples, Senior Vice President of Air Operations at Envoy, reflected on the legacy of the ERJ-145, saying: “The launch of American Eagle’s regional jet service in May 1998 was a major milestone for our company and our customers. Our Regional Jet fleet allowed Envoy and the customers we serve to reach new markets and destinations quickly and comfortably. This process continues today with our growing fleet of large Regional Jets [E170/175].”
This milestone marks a transition period for Envoy Air, as it now focuses on expanding its fleet of larger-capacity regional jets. The Embraer E-170 and E-175 allow the airline to reach new markets and offer passengers a more comfortable and convenient flight experience.
